Some of the frequently asked questions about the admissions process:

Q. When can I apply for a place in St Mark’s Community School for my 6th class child?

A. This year applications will be accepted from Monday 11th October to Monday 1st November.

Q. Where can I get the application form?

A. It can be downloaded here or from the school website www.stmarkscs.ie If you prefer we can post or email it to you if you contact the school.

Q. How do I contact the school?

A. You can email office@stmarkscs.ie Please include your number if you would like a call or leave your question and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Q. Do I need to send any other documents with the application form?

A. Yes. You must enclose the original birth certificate of the child and proof of your address with the completed form. The birth certificate will be copied and returned to you.

Q. How will I return the application to the school?

A. You may post it or you may hand it in to the school.

Applications will be accepted in person at the following times:

Monday 11th October 4pm - 6pm

Tuesday 12th October 4pm - 6pm

Wednesday 13th October 4pm - 5:30pm

Thursday 14th October 4pm - 5:30pm

Friday 15th October 1pm - 3pm

The school is not open to the public due to Covid-19 restrictions so regrettably you cannot call in outside of these times. When visiting you will be met at the entrance and are required to adhere to social distancing protocols.

Q. When will I know if my child is offered a place?

A. After the closing date for applications, November 1st all applications will be reviewed and places will be offered as outlined in our Admission Policy.

You will receive a letter from the school by November 17th If your child is offered a place a form called Application Form - Part 2 will be enclosed.

Q. What do I do when my child is offered a place?

A. It is very important that you accept the place.

You do this by completing Application Form - Part 2 and returning it to the school by December 1st.

This will secure the place for your child.
