Letter from Ms Coyne - 14th September 2020

Dear Parents,

I was informed on Sunday evening by the HSE of a case of Covid -19 affecting a student from the school.

All close contacts of the case were notified within a few hours, following an assessment by the HSE, and they will not be attending school until their restriction is lifted by the HSE (September 23rd).

Students who were identified as not being close contacts can attend school. I am advised by the HSE that no other action is necessary at this time.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents that if your child develops any symptoms of COVID-19 you do not send them to school but contact your GP for further advice.

I am happy to assure you all that we are observing all health and safety measures in the school since we returned and are very pleased with the cooperative spirit with which your children, our students, have adapted to these new measures.

To reassure you again, as soon as the HSE notify me of a confirmed case of COVID-19 involving a member of the school community:

  1. The HSE assesses the situation.
  2. All close contacts are identified and this information is shared with the HSE who will contact these families.
  3. The school notifies the families of close contacts by text and gives the date for return to school.
  4. The families of other students in the Year Group are notified to prevent unnecessary worry.

Thank you for your continuing cooperation and support.

Yours sincerely,

Eithne Coyne
