Our Transition Year students have enjoyed a busy and enriching period from Christmas to midterm, filled with opportunities that promoted leadership, creativity, wellbeing, and real-world learning. Highlights from this term include tour guiding at Glasnevin Cemetery, participation in national language and STEM initiatives, visits to third-level institutions, and engagement with industry leaders in technology, business, and the arts.
Students showcased outstanding initiative through events such as Think Languages Week, the Christmas Fair, charity fundraising for the ISPCC, and the organisation of a school-wide short story competition. Many also took part in inspiring workshops and programmes with Trinity College, Maynooth University, TU Dublin, Google, the Lir Academy, and the Dare to Believe programme.
From the school musical Grease and an Olympian visit to ice-skating in Dundrum and a TG4 quiz show experience, this term offered a rich balance of academic, creative, and social learning. These experiences truly highlight the enthusiasm, maturity, and teamwork of our TY cohort.
