At St Mark’s Community School, we are proud to be part of the DEIS (Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools) programme - a national, government funded initiative that helps schools like ours provide the very best education for every student. Being part of DEIS means we receive extra resources and supports to help students succeed, both in and out of the classroom.
Through DEIS, we benefit from additional funding, targeted literacy and numeracy programmes, access to the School Completion Programme, and Home School Community Liaison services. These supports help us build an inclusive and supportive school environment, where all students are encouraged to reach their full potential and enjoy learning.
Each year, we create a DEIS Action Plan focused on eight key areas: attendance, retention, progression, transitions, partnerships with parents and others, literacy, numeracy, and leadership/CPD. This helps us respond to the needs of our school community and ensure students experience high-quality teaching and learning throughout their time in St Mark’s.
