At St Mark’s Community School, we are committed to a whole school approach to Restorative Practice. This reflects our dedication to building a caring, inclusive and positive school environment, where every student feels recognised, respected and supported.
Restorative Practice plays a key role in how we develop strong relationships and respond to conflict in a healthy, constructive way. It promotes open dialogue, active listening, accountability and empathy, helping us to prevent issues where possible and resolve them fairly when they arise.
We use a variety of restorative tools in our day to day school life, including affective statements, restorative circles and restorative conversations. All of these are grounded in restorative questions and values that guide us in building understanding, repairing harm and moving forward together.
By embedding these approaches throughout our school community, we continue to strengthen the culture of care that defines St Mark’s. Restorative Practice supports our school’s vision by fostering meaningful relationships and encouraging every member of our community to take an active role in creating a respectful and positive learning environment.
